Keep Living at Home is a locally owned Class A state licensed Private Duty Home Healthcare Agency.  We are not nationwide, and we are not corporate care.  You will speak to our team every time you call.   I founded Keep Living at Home after working with an amazing (now retired) neurologist Dr. Paul Morte.  I would give him a lot of credit for the success of our business.  He always felt that caring for someone was a trust that couldn't be broken, so to always go above and beyond.  There are so many seniors that just need a little help to be able to remain in the same house with their spouse, or to remain independent. We match Private Caregivers based on personalities and skills.  This means that when you need cares that Medicare and health insurance won't cover, our Private Caregivers are able to step in.

Our first client was in 2012 in Lawrence, Kansas.  As we have grown we have added a second location in Clay Center, KS.  We have always added team members based on their heart for others.  Our caregivers have a genuine care and concern for seniors.  They range in age from 18 to 65 and come from a variety of backgrounds, but all have the same heart for caring and serving others.  These caregivers are the reason that we have such a great reputation, they pour their hearts into loving our clients.  I would want them to take care of me or my family!  

When KDHE regulations changed and required non-skilled agencies to become licensed we opted for the Class A Home Health Agency License so that we could continue to offer the Private Caregivers as well as employ an Administrator and Nurses.  In addition to Private Duty in home care, we offer One-Time Consultations,  Care Management/Nurse Navigation Services, Hospital & Rehab to Home Program, Billing Services for Long Term Care Insurance, House Cleaning, and a Life Alert System.   

WHATS NEW WITH US?   We have added a Long Term Care Insurance billing service.   Letting our agency handle all of your long-term care insurance billing ensures that you receive the accurate and timely payments you deserve, without the hassle and confusion of navigating complex insurance processes. Our experienced team takes the burden off your shoulders by managing the paperwork, verifying coverage, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is submitted correctly and on time.  Giving back to our community is very important to us.   We started an equipment donation program after a call from then Douglas County Fire and Medical Division Chief, Kevin Joles. He was asking if we had any resources for a seat lift chair for someone that was stuck in her chair.  We went to Facebook and within 24 hours we had one for the firefighters to deliver to their patient.  The Lawrence community is just so giving and helpful.   It was one of those “feel good” moments for everyone.  We all need that now and then.  Today we have a storage room full of a variety of equipment that we will pass on to anyone in need, free of charge. 

OUR WHY:  It doesn’t take long in a google search to see that our seniors are often overlooked.  This affects me and everyone on our team, we are all getting older.  Our goal when we see an area of need for our seniors will always be to try and figure out how we can fill that void and how we can do it so that it benefits everyone involved.  Physicians can only help when they know the whole story, with our updates they have the whole story.  Hospitals have readmissions that can be avoided by having systems in place, medications being taken as prescribed, and a team working together.  Our Seniors benefit from all of us working together.  The bonus for us is that we get to sit at the feet of these amazing people and hear their life stories.
